This Access to Primary Education and Humanities course will introduce you to a range of social science subjects and is designed for adults returning to study after at least five years out of full-time education who wish to progress to university-level study.
A range of topics will be covered, including approaches and methods in psychology, gender, class and ethnic inequalities in education and crime. Historical immigration and emigration will also be introduced. You will also be introduced to crime statistics in your local area as well as the different sanctions that can be imposed on those who engage in criminal behaviour.
Candidates must meet SWAP criteria. As there are no formal entry requirements, selection will be based on application form, interview (including written task), reference and evidence of academic potential.
HNC or HND level study at Glasgow Clyde College or other colleges.
Arts and social sciences degree, or a degree in primary education at University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University, University of Strathclyde, Stirling University or Open University.
