This qualification covers the technical needs for today’s motor vehicle painting/refinishing industry, including preparation, mixing and application procedures and the diagnosis and rectifying of paint faults. It provides essential knowledge for vehicle body and paint operators working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages and specialist body and paint businesses.

The qualification is recognised by the Sector Skills Council as a VRQ/Technical Certificate and can be used as knowledge evidence in a related Modern Apprenticeship programme.

Entry Requirements

Vehicle Body Spray Painting (Level 5); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5
