This qualification is an engaging and motivating Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) which is aimed at learners who have a keen interest to learn about the maintenance of various types of transport and the job roles that are available within the automotive sector. It provides essential knowledge for service technicians working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of garages and dealerships.
The qualification is recognised by the Sector Skills Council as a VRQ/Technical Certificate.
This programme involves studying both the theory and practical aspects of:
Carrying Out Routine Vehicle Maintenance; Removing and Replacing: Engine Units and Components,; Electrical Auxiliary Units and Components, Chassis Units and Components.
Assessments are in a dedicated motor vehicle workshop environment and by online multiple choice testing.
