This course involves study of Sports Coaching - Knowing yourself, Knowing Others, Knowing Coaching, Coaching Children, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Biomechanics in Sport, Sports Development, Strength and Conditioning, Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Coaching and Developing Sport: Graded Unit 1.

You will also undertake a coaching placement that will operate throughout both academic terms to help develop your practical experience and to help gather information towards your assessments.

As part of an on-going learning process, work is assessed throughout the year and assessments may be in the form of assignments, project work, case studies, oral presentations, open and closed book assessments and tutor observations of practical performance.

The HNC comprises of practical sessions, lectures, group work delivered by vastly experienced professional sports coaches and staff at Broadwood Stadium Sports Campus in Cumbernauld who will share current and relevant industry experience to motivate you to succeed.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including 1 relevant subject; or NQ Sport and Fitness (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
