The college's motor vehicle courses are delivered through the internationally recognised IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) to give you the skills you need for a great career. You'll have the added benefit of learning in superb garage facilities which reflect industry standards, including the latest diagnostic equipment.

During this course, you may have the opportunity to:

Develop practical skills in the well-equipped workshop; Cover all vehicle-related systems, including engines, transmissions, exhausts, electrical, brakes, fuel, steering, and suspension; Participate in hands-on activities like removing wheels, removing, and fitting components, and routine vehicle maintenance; Explore the effects of vehicles on the environment, including low carbon technologies;
Learn about workshop safety and maintenance, vehicle construction, moving loads, using vehicle lifts, and garage equipment; Gain insight into the retail motor industry and vehicle repair trade; Gain essential knowledge to succeed in the motor industry.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 3; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 3. Entry subject to interview.
