This fast track course will be delivered over 24 weeks. You will learn creative barbering skills in a realistic environment through workshops and practical sessions. Creatively cut hair using barbering techniques, provide shaving services, design and create facial hair shapes using advanced techniques, consult, assess and plan for barbering services, creatively colour and lighten the hair using advanced techniques. Work placement is undertaken during the course.

You'll learn how to creatively cut Hair using a combination of barbering techniques:
Design and create facial hair shapes using advanced techniques; Provide shaving services using a straight razor; Consult, Assess, Plan and Prepare for Hair, Barbering; Combine barbering, cutting and clipper techniques to create a bespoke look; Implement and Maintain Safe, Hygienic and Effective Working Practices

There are optional units in:
Design and create hair designs and shapes in the hair using advanced clipper and razor techniques; Develop, enhance and evaluate your creative barbering skills; Plan, implement and evaluate promotional activities; Work placement.

Entry Requirements

SVQ Barbering at SCQF Level 5; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to interview and skills test.
