NQ Beauty Therapy (SCQF Level 6) is a course which will allow you to gain and develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of the industry sector and related industries. The NQ is a National Qualification that should be recognised by any potential employer as a measure of your abilities and should allow for employment in a junior role within the Beauty Therapy industry. The course is delivered on a full-time basis and will provide you with a qualification and a defined skill set which reflects the skills essential for a successful career in the Beauty sector. The main aim of the award is to introduce you to the professional principles and practices of Beauty Therapy which will help you to make informed future career choices and enhance your employability skills. This course encompasses a large practical element which is carried out in our salons within ‘The Retreat’ at the Academy of Sport and Wellbeing therefore providing a realistic working environment and giving you valuable practical experience.
Content includes:

Facial and eye treatments; Customer care; Body massage; Human biology; Core Skills; Hand and foot treatments; Manual and Spray Tanning application; Eye Enhancements.

The emphasis is on practical skills with underpinning theory.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 or 5 including English and preferably a science subject. Interview.
