Specifically designed to continue to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare learners for employment as a junior hairdresser/stylist. Learners will have their hairdressing skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment. This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a junior hairdresser/stylist including: Health and Safety; Client Consultation; Shampoo and Conditioning Hair; Researching Working in the Hair Industry; Cut Women's Hair; Colour and Lighten Hair and the Art of Dressing Hair.
Hairdressing (VTCT) Diploma Level 1; interview; skills test
For applicants where English is not their first language then ESOL at Intermediate 2 is required as excellent communication skills are needed.
Enthusiasm and motivation for the Hairdressing industry and a creative ability is an advantage. Selection is based on a group information session, a skills test and an individual interview. A satisfactory reference may be required.
Further study or to gain employment in the beauty therapy industry in a wide range of career opportunities.
