Content

This course is specifically designed to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare you for employment as a junior hairdresser. Your skills will be practised in a realistic working environment at our Hair and Beauty school.

This qualification includes all of the required skills to work as a junior hairdresser/stylist. You will study Health and Safety; Client Consultation; Shampoo and Conditioning Hair; Researching Working in the Hair Industry; Cutting Women's Hair; Colour and Lighten Hair and the Art of Dressing Hair at a minimum.

Entry Requirements

Hairdressing (VTCT) Diploma Level 1; preferably plus 2 subjects at National 4; interview; skills test

For applicants where English is not their first language then ESOL at Intermediate 2 is required as excellent communication skills are needed.

Enthusiasm and motivation for the Hairdressing industry and a creative ability is an advantage. Selection is based on a group information session, a skills test and an individual interview. A satisfactory reference may be required.
