The course will develop your understanding and enable you to develop basic practical techniques in make-up, skin and hand care, nail art, manicure and pedicure treatments. You will also learn skills and techniques for photographic make-up and creating a hair and beauty image.

The topics covered will ensure you have a firm grasp of health and safety, how to present yourself professionally in a salon, how to carry out effective team work and reception duties.

Subjects Include:
Working on real clients; Personal presentation and the careers available in the hair and beauty industry; Consultation and health and safety; Skin care and basic make-up; Manicure and pedicure; Photographic make-up skills; Reception duties; Working as a team.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 4, preferably including English or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
