NC Hairdressing (First Year) is a recognised first year qualification designed to prepare you for the start of an exciting career in the hairdressing industry. It will not only develop your knowledge and skills in all aspects of hairdressing, such as hair cutting, colouring and styling techniques but also includes hands-on hairdressing practice to develop your experience.

Content:

Shampooing, Conditioning and Scalp Massage; Blow Drying Techniques; Ladies Hairdressing: Basic Cutting Categories; Mix, Apply and Remove Hair Colour; Competition technical skills.

Entry Requirements

National 4 English. Interview and skills test.

Progression Routes

NQ Hairdressing (Level 6); or employment
