This Make-up Artistry TV, Film and Theatre HND provides you with the underpinning knowledge and skills required to work as a make-up artist within the TV, film and theatre industries. You'll learn a range of media make-up and hairstyling techniques necessary to create theatrical, character and special effects looks which will enable you to seek employment as a freelance make-up artist, an assistant to a more senior colleague or work as a member of a make-up design team.

An essential aspect of the course is working in industry alongside, meeting and observing Make-up Artists working in the field.

You'll study the following core units:-
Make-up Artistry: Essential Make-up Skills; Make-up Artistry: Hairstyling and Skills; Make-up Artistry: 20th Century Make-up and Hairstyles; Make-up Artistry: Specialised Make-Up Effects for TV and Film;
Make-up Artistry: Ageing Skills; Make-up Artistry: Production Study; Make-up Artistry: Graded Unit 2.

Additional units will be included to make up the full group award to gain your qualification at HND Level.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Art and Design; or NQ Make-Up Artistry; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview, portfolio, practical test.
