This dynamic introductory course combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, giving you a deep understanding of the artistry, techniques and industry context behind every look.

You’ll explore developing make-up techniques, anatomy and colour theory, period and character design and current trends in editorial and fashion make-up. Working in professional studio environments, you’ll build a diverse portfolio that showcases your individual style and technical ability.

Whether you dream of working backstage at fashion shows, on set for film and TV, or as a freelance make-up artist, this course is the perfect preparation for progression to advanced HN study and a professional career in fashion and media make-up.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 or 5 preferably including English, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
