Content

This course caters for students who wish to progress from HND study in Sport Coaching and Development or a related area. It provides a grounding in theoretical concepts within a range of coaching modalities. In addition, you will implement theory in practice within a variety of settings and applied contexts.

YEAR 3
You will look at the implementation of sport coaching across a variety of practical, education and applied settings, through developing an understanding of coaching theory, sports development, and psychology for a variety of population groups and performance levels within the wider sporting environment. You will engage in the research process and will complete a coaching placement module.

YEAR 4
You will implement an applied research project, investigate topical issues within various areas of sports coaching through interactive debate, and further develop knowledge of coaching and educational practice. You will also have the opportunity to further develop practical coaching skills through a yearlong placement.
