This course will allow you to develop the basic skills, knowledge and understanding of the modern vehicle body repair industry. The course is delivered over one year and provides students with basic knowledge of body repair, welding, fabrication and paint techniques used within the automotive environment.

Study topics include basic welding, fabrication, removal and fitting of vehicle panels and components, basic spray painting techniques and resistance spot welding. You will also learn basic technologies within body repair and refinishing skills, enabling you to understand and carry out repairs on vehicle panels such as wings, bonnets, sills, doors and the techniques of spray painting.

No formal entry requirements. Aptitude test.

Progression Routes

Students may progress into employment in the automotive industry through our apprentice programme or alternatively to one of our full-time college based programmes.
