This course will allow you to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for a career in automotive engineering. Working on light vehicles (cars and vans), you will learn about a wide range of workshop operations and vehicle systems including health and safety, tools and equipment and business enterprise.
This is a full-time course taught between Edinburgh College’s automotive workshops and classroom areas over one-year. Workshop learning will allow you to work on live vehicles to best simulate a realistic working environment. The workshops have all the necessary resources for you to fully engage in the motor vehicle industry.
During this course you will enhance your core skills which can be applied to everyday life and future employment in areas such as communication, numeracy, ICT, problem-solving and working with others. You will be assessed on your knowledge and skills. Upon completion of these assignments, you will submit them into your ePortfolio.
This qualification allows you to have the flexibility to develop your knowledge and skills across a variety of specialist areas to prepare you for further studies or to enter a job in the automotive industry.
National 4 English, Maths and a science or technological subject. Interview.
