This introductory course is designed for those looking to start their career in in the hairdressing industry. It will allow possible progression to our SVQ level 3 Hairdressing course. It will introduce you to a range of hairdressing techniques and skills needed for a career in the industry.

The course covers
Cutting hair using basic techniques; Shampooing; Conditioning and reating hair and scalp; Dry, style and finish hair; Set, style and dress hair; Colour and lighten hair; Cut and clipper hair.

A work placement will also be a part of the course.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 4, or SVQ Hairdressing at SCQF Level 4, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. You also need excellent communication skills. You must be 16 years old at the start of the course. Entry is based on successful interview.
