This course gives you a great introduction to barbering, developing your creative and practical skills, and technical knowledge. You'll train in one of our on-campus commercial salons, working with real clients, as you learn to cut and style hair. Due to barbering being such a fast-changing industry, our aim is always to ensure that your course develops the current skills and knowledge required for positive progression, therefore some of what you study on the course may change. If you're interested in taking the first steps on this exciting career path, or you're qualified in hairdressing and want to develop your skills in barbering, this is the course for you.

Subjects include: Shampoo and conditioning techniques; barbering techniques; clippering and cutting techniques; drying and finishing; and, client consultation.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.

Progression Routes

Relevant qualification at SCQF Level 6 or employment.
