The City & Guilds Diploma in Vehicle Service and Repair at Glasgow Kelvin College provides the essential knowledge and practical skills you need to begin a career in the fast-moving world of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Delivered over one academic year on a full-time basis, this course gives you real-world experience in our specialist automotive workshops, using industry-standard tools and diagnostic equipment.

You’ll learn how modern vehicle systems operate, how to diagnose faults, and how to carry out safe, professional repairs. The programme prepares you for employment, apprenticeships, or higher-level study within the automotive sector.

Units include:

Vehicle Technology & Workshop Processes; Routine Maintenance & Servicing; Fuel & Exhaust Systems; Steering & Suspension Systems; Vehicle Electrical Systems; Spark Ignition Systems.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4, preferably English, Maths and a science subject. Interview and aptitude test.
