Our motor vehicle courses are delivered through the internationally recognised IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) to give you the skills you need for a great career.

During this course, you'll have the chance to:

enhance your practical skills in our well-equipped workshop; expand your knowledge of essential theory for the motor industry; develop communication skills for customer interactions and numeracy for invoicing; focus on all vehicle-related systems, from engine and transmission to electrical and chassis; learn about the various systems such as engines, fuel, exhaust, transmissions, chassis, vehicle electrics, also servicing, and Electric Vehicle; hone your inspection skills to determine a vehicle's roadworthiness and its ability to pass an MOT; acquire knowledge about safety and effective work practices in the automotive environment, as well as materials and tools; and, build transferable, essential skills in communication, numeracy, ICT, teamwork, and problem solving.

Entry Requirements

Automotive Maintenance with Electric Vehicle Awareness (Pre-Apprenticeship) (Level 4); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry subject to interview.
