Do you have an interest in how the world of sport works? Does a role in management and governance appeal to you? Ready to explore the relationship between the two? This Sport and Management degree gives you the best of both worlds, making you a highly desirable candidate for the national and international sport governing bodies as well as providing you with the skills and knowledge to strike out on your own.

You’ll critically evaluate the contexts of sport and physical activity, challenging ideas and concepts using the principles of business and management. You’ll be encouraged to show initiative, research and develop your own knowledge, and apply practical skills as much as possible, arming you with the ability to have a major impact on sport and management.

You’ll focus on sport and community development, event management, and policy within the context of business, management of services, people, and the sporting environment. This includes entrepreneurship, human resources, sporting expertise, marketing and service operations. You’ll graduate equipped with everything you need to arrange large events, manage facilities, or provide direction within sport organisations.

2025 entry requirements

Standard entry: 4 Highers at BBBC including English or another English based subject or Physical Education at B plus English and Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5.

Widening access: 3 Highers at BBC including English or another English based subject or Physical Education at B plus English and Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5.

For entry to second year, you must have 3 Advanced Highers at BBB including Physical Education and Business Management.
