This course develops knowledge, skills, and a sound understanding along with practical expertise in all aspects of fashion make-up, thereby enabling you to work confidently and competently within the fashion make-up industry. Candidate who successfully complete the course will be competent in a range of skills which will enable them to seek employment in a variety of roles such as freelance make-up artist, cosmetic consultant, session stylist, social media blogger, cosmetic company ambassador, sales representative or demonstrator.

The course will cover the following:

Essential make-up skills; Fashion make-up: Current fashion and classic make-up skills; Fashion make-up: runway and editorial make-up and skills; Work placement; Fashion make-up: presentation and promotional skills; Fashion make-up: hairdressing techniques; Fashion make-up: Make-up and hairstyling for a photoshoot; Fashion make-up: graded unit.

Optional units in the course may include: Make-up, hairstyling and costume for a total look; Eyebrow artistry; Personal development planning.

Entry Requirements

NQ Make-Up Artistry, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6
