Content

You'll cover a range of topics including delivering basic horse health care treatment, planning diets and implementing feeding regimes and monitoring and maintaining stocks of feed and bedding.

Other topics include reporting on health and wellbeing, tacking up horses for specialist work, clipping and preparing horses for public appearance.

Content includes: Watering and Feeding; Horse Transportation; Horse Health; Horse Fitness; Lungeing; Tacking up for Ridden Competition Work.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5 plus 3 subjects at National 4 preferably including English and Maths. 2 weeks' practical work experience. Recorded evidence of ability to ride, to include a minimum of walk, trot and canter and jumping to be submitted with application.
