This course will provide you with the underpinning knowledge and skills required for the motor vehicle engineering industry.
This course has been designed to cover essential skills including component removal, refitting, servicing techniques and fault diagnosis. You will be assessed through observation and written job cards.
You will learn essential skills including:
light vehicle systems and routine maintenance; operating principles of light vehicle engines
tyres, brakes, steering and suspension systems; transmission systems and electrical and electronic systems, including knowledge of carrying out low Voltage operations on, near, or with electric vehicles.
3 subjects at National 4 including English and Maths (Applications of Maths not accepted). Or Engineering: An Introduction (Level 4).
