This course provides you with a clear and detailed grasp of how different parts of our lives are influenced by the same things, for example, disability, economics, transport links, climate change and COVID-19. It also gives you the tools to understand the meaning behind our actions and to put our own experiences into a wider societal context.
You will look at the theoretical perspectives associated with your subjects and will apply Sociological, Psychological, Political, Historical and Criminological theories to real world examples.
The course also equips you with the transferable meta-skills of self-management, social intelligence and innovation that are integral to careers such as teaching, local and national government, the criminal justice system, social work, museum curation and journalism.
Main contents include:
Psychology; Sociology; Politics; History; Criminology; Philosophy; Study Skills.
4 subjects at National 5 (2 at B) including English and a social science subject; National 4 Maths or Applications of Maths preferred; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
