Content

Have you always been intrigued by our native language, Scottish Gaelic? Do you want to dive into Scotland’s oldest indigenous language, be part of the regeneration of the Gaelic language and enhance your career prospects? Yes? Then the NQ Gaelic course is just what you need.

The main focus of the course is on developing the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing and you will do this through studying various topics and using workbooks, worksheets, websites, videos and films.

This course is aimed at beginners but may also be of interest to Gaelic speakers who wish to improve their level of literacy in Gaelic.

This course will be delivered flexibly and will allow for the opportunity to attend Springburn Campus on one day per week but with two other twilight/evening sessions which will take place remotely over MS Teams. Delivery will be further supported with a range of videos and other teaching materials all of which can be accessed remotely over the duration of the course.

Entry Requirements

Previous qualifications in Gaelic are not essential, however, it would be beneficial if you have undertaken some self-study, for example, having used apps like Duolingo.

An informal interview will be available should you want to talk about any elements of the course.
