This flexible joint honours programme enables you to study two complementary European languages in their global cultural contexts.
Both languages are among the 10 most widely spoken in the world, opening up career opportunities in Europe, Africa and the Americas.
Most of our graduates started as complete beginners in Portuguese. Through intensive language study, including a year abroad, you will have the opportunity to acquire the same level of spoken and written Portuguese as you gain in French.
In addition to your language classes, you will explore aspects of French-speaking (Francophone) and Portuguese-speaking (Lusophone) culture. Courses cover literature and cinema, political history, social movements and philosophical ideas.
