This course is aimed at students who wish to study a Life Science degree at the University of Glasgow (UofG) and who meet the widening participation criteria detailed below.

This course is enhanced with additional studies carried out at the UofG to allow you to articulate into the 2nd year of Life Sciences degree programmes upon successful completion.

You'll learn about: Laboratory Skills, Human Biology, Microbiology, Fundamental chemistry and biochemistry, cell biology, DNA and genetics, and statistics/mathematics.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher, preferably Biology, Chemistry or Human Biology plus Maths at National 5 preferred; or Foundation Apprenticeship Scientific Technologies (Laboratory Skills); or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Applicants with appropriate experience or other training may be accepted without formal qualifications.

You must meet widening access criteria.

Progression Routes

Year 2 of various life sciences degrees at the University of Glasgow or other university degree programmes, or HND Biomedical Science. You may also take up a technical level post in the NHS.
