Content

This course provides you with an understanding of society, cultures, identity formation, morality and how government systems really work. You will consider global, and local communities, and how they are connected to your own life.

You will look at the theoretical perspectives associated with your subjects and will apply Sociological, Psychological, Political, Historical and Criminological theories to real world examples.

The course also equips you with the transferable meta-skills of self-management and social intelligence that are integral to careers such as teaching, local and national government, the criminal justice system, social work, museum curation and journalism.

Main contents include:

Psychology; Sociology; Politics; History; Criminology; Philosophy; Study Skills.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 (2 at B) including English and a social science subject; National 4 Maths or Applications of Maths preferred; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
