This computing course covers a wide range of subjects and enables you to specialise in the particular area of Cyber security. You will be offered the opportunity to study towards Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft MCITP and CompTIA A+ qualifications which are highly-desired by employers. You are also given the opportunity to enter World Skills competitions. We are sector leaders here – with Glasgow Clyde College being the lead developer for the Cyber Security competition, having two students in the UK Cyber Security team. Classes are delivered in our latest Microsoft labs, equipped with specialist equipment.
Subjects include:
Ethical hacking: Testing the security through vulnerability assessments and exploitation
Digital forensics: Discovering evidence in a digital crime scene
Server administration: Ensuring the core infrastructure is secure from outside threats
Firewall: Delivered through our partnership with PaloAlto
Linux: Linux Essentials delivered within the Cisco platform
Cloud computing: Developing core skills in cloud computing and fundamental concepts of the underlying technologies
Networking: Understanding the basics of networking theory and practical, with a focus on security
Artificial intelligence (AI): Looking at contemporary development in the AI industry
Cryptography: The practical study of cryptography, from codebreaking historical cyphers to modern cryptography underpinning the whole internet.
1 Higher and one National 5 in Maths, Computing, Science or IT, or a relevant NC or equivalent qualification. Interview.
