Explore architectural design sketching, BIM processes, and advanced CAD usage. Explore construction technology, structural design, and common building services. Engage in practical tasks, from material testing to levelling surveys. Benefit from real-world applications and industry insights, including work placements and site visits.

Contents include:

Develop skills in architectural design sketching; Focus on the BIM process using advanced CAD and ICT collaboration; Learn about architectural design companies and construction technology; Explore substructure, construction techniques, and structural design; Gain insights into building services for commercial, industrial, and high-rise buildings; and, Hands-on tasks include material testing and levelling surveys.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher, preferably English, Maths or a science subject, or Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

Relevant HND or relevant degree course at university, possibly through the college's articulation arrangements, or employment.
