This course prepares you to undertake roles, which support children and young people in an educational setting and will provide a platform to those already working in educational support roles.

Subjects will include: Supporting the Behaviour of Children and Young People; Supporting Children and Young People in an Educational Setting; Professional Practice in an Educational Setting.

During the course you'll spend two days a week on placement in a school.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English, or National 5 Skills for Work Early Education and Childcare; or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services (Children and Young People); or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
