This course provides you with sound education and training in key areas of social science theory, research and investigation.

Key course objectives are to develop knowledge in the social sciences; to develop analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills; to develop communication skills, and to develop personal effectiveness and critical thinking about social and cultural issues.

A range of social science subjects from: Sociology; Psychology; Politics; History; Economics; Research; Graded exam.


Entry Requirements

English and a social science subject at Higher (first sitting) with 1 at B; or NC Social Sciences. Interview.

Progression Routes

Entry to range of HND or degree programmes in Social Work, Care and Health sector; employment as social care worker or support worker with various groups.
