Physiotherapists are key members of health care teams. They work with people of all ages to prevent injury, promote health and restore movement and function.

The aim is to develop graduates with the values and skills to become innovative and problem-solving practitioners. You will develop a scientific outlook and deal with patients in a variety of settings; from neuro rehabilitation and musculoskeletal to respiratory care and industry.

To develop the skills required in physiotherapy, you will practise on other students in your class. Your learning is also supported by visiting the clinical simulation lab, field trips, practice education placements and e-learning. You will also gain experience in an elective placement in the UK or abroad.

The learning and teaching methods we use ensure that the course is both vocationally relevant and academically challenging. Their approach is student-centred, practical, participative and relevant to the needs of employers. Students gain experience in an elective placement, which can take place in the UK or abroad.

Entry Requirements

2027 entry requirements

Standard entry: 5 Highers at AABBB including 2 from Maths (or Applications of Maths), Physical Education, Psychology and science subjects.

Widening access entry: 4 Highers at BCCC including 2 from Maths (or Applications of Maths), Physical Education, Psychology and science subjects.

A Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted as equivalent of a non-essential Higher at B.

Before applying it is advisable to visit local hospitals to observe the work of the Physiotherapist or undertake work experience/voluntary work in a related area.
