SQA Results Day Guide

What happens on results day?

If you have signed up to MySQA, you will receive your results by email or text, usually by 9am. Otherwise you will need to wait anxiously until the postman delivers that big white envelope through your door.

Your results will contain your Scottish Qualification Certificate, keep this safe as you will need it to prove any qualifications you have achieved

If you have a conditional place at university, UCAS will receive these results at the same time.

What happens next?

Results don't always go the way you have planned. Don't be too hard on yourself, it's not the end of the world. There's always an alternative.

If you are going back to school, contact the school to see what your options are. Don't put this off, do it as soon as possible, as spaces for some subjects may be limited.

If you are planning on going to college or university, and now don't have the necessary entry requirements, contact them. They may still accept you, or suggest another course. Have a look at UCAS Clearing 2018 to see what courses are available.

You may also find that your results are better than expected and you wish to change to a better course. UCAS Adjustment allows you to apply for courses with higher entry requirements. 2018 Adjustment opens on Thursday 16 August 2018.

If you are unsure of what to do next, contact your school guidance teacher or SDS careers adviser.

Good luck!!!
