As well as an understanding of the commercial production of fruit, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants, this course teaches how to address the design, establishment and maintenance of parks and gardens, open spaces and managed landscapes.

It will give you a broad base of horticultural knowledge that prepares you for work in any area of the industry, and establish your capabilities in horticultural science, experimentation in plant physiology and advances in horticultural technology.

The first two years reflect the HND Horticulture course.

In years three and four you'll study a selection of core subjects, as well as choosing your own specialist modules in production horticulture or garden and greenspace management.

Example modules: Vegetable and Fruit Production; Global Horticulture; Horticultural Plant Physiology; Landscape Horticulture; Multipurpose Woodland Management.

4 Highers at BBCC including a science subject plus English and Maths at National 5.
