Within the first year of this course you will be introduced to different aspects of the fashion industry and gain skills in areas such as design, digital work, industrial sewing techniques, textiles and merchandising to name but a few. You will design and create a fashion outfit, which is then showcased at our end of year fashion show. Into the second year you will develop your knowledge further, studying areas such as advanced pattern cutting, Store Design, Evening wear/Bridal Manufacture, and Tailoring techniques.

Content includes:
Fashion Design an Introduction; Digital Imaging (Photoshop + Illustrator); Menswear/ Womenswear Tailoring; Pattern Construction (Blocks + Manipulations); Bridal and Evening wear Design/Manufacture
Couture Embellishments; Industrial Sewing Skills; Garment Construction + Production; Textiles Technology; Fashion Merchandising; Production Processes; Designing on the Dress Stand; Fashion Forecasting.

Entry Requirements

2 relevant Highers; or NC Fashion: Design and Manufacture (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry subject to interview. Portfolio of work.
