Introduction to Horticulture gives the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge of practical skills in gardening and hard landscaping in a real setting. Perth and Kinross has a large number of gardens and estates that can provide work for those interested in a career in this area.

You will carry out a wide range of hard landscaping and gardening tasks such as:

Laying slabs; Fence construction; Walling; Preparing ground for planting; Pruning; Fruit and vegetable production; Border maintenance.

You will also learn about lawn care, plant health and gain knowledge in the identification of plants.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. Study up to SCQF Level 3 is preferred. Interview.
