Content

Through critical thinking about social and cultural issues the course seeks to develop your analytical, evaluative, problem solving and communication skills.

The HND course provides in-depth study in the main social science subjects including: Sociology; Psychology; History; Politics; Philosophy; Geography; Criminology.

Please note that the course content will vary slightly between campuses.

This course also includes compulsory units - two research methods units and three graded units.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers (1 at B). English and a social science subject preferred. Or NC Social Science (Level 6). Interview and written test.

Progression Routes

Degree level study, with 1st, 2nd or 3rd year entry available at some universities.
