This course is for young people who would like to develop their independent living skills. They may be planning to live independently or have their own tenancy.

It offers students a high level of support and nurturing, while creating independence. This course meets the needs of applicants who have a learning disability and/or are Autistic.

Students come to college 12 hours per week and will achieve a qualification at SCQF Level 2.

You will explore:

how to create weekly planners to help you organise your time; budgeting for bills, shopping, and other items; cooking healthy, filling meals on a budget; operating household devices such as washing machines, irons, ovens, and learning how to use household cleaners safely; personal safety in everyday life and online; personal care and wellbeing.

This course will enable students to feel more confident and equipped with the right skills to live independently.
