This PDA Developing Professional Practice in health and social care: Maternity support course has been designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare support workers who already work in a maternity support role. This qualification is suitable for those who have successfully completed the HNC Healthcare Practice and wish to enhance their university application for midwifery.

This award is also suitable for individuals who have an interest in, or would like to work as, a maternity support assistant, childbirth educator or doula.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers preferably including English, or NC Level 6 in a health or care related area or SWAP Access to Nursing. Interview.
