Designed to enable adults with no formal qualifications to prepare, in one year, for entry into a degree course in Nursing, or HNC Healthcare or in some cases HNC Social Care.
Course units include:
Values and Principles in Care; Social influences; Stress and stress Management; Human Development and behaviour; The Human Body; Mental Health and Mental Illness; First aid; HIV Infection; Core skills such as Communications Higher, and Numeracy.
No formal entry requirements. however applicants should preferably have a gap in their formal education (3 or 5 years). You must be highly motivated and conscientious. Entry by informal interview and a short written exercise.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
