This course is ideal for creative individuals who enjoy meeting people. It emphasizes practical hairdressing skills and interpersonal development. Expect both practical and online theoretical assessments, paired activities with classmates, and the need to practice on friends and family. Bringing in clients for certain assessments is required.

You will learn all of the initial aspects of hairdressing - styling, shampooing, hair condition, consultation techniques, reception services, product knowledge. You will also learn about sustainability, mental health, resilience, ICT and personal presentation. Cutting skills will also be developed during the course.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 4 including English; interview

Progression Routes

You can progress to SVQ2 in Hairdressing on successful completion of this course.
