This course provides young people with the opportunity to build confidence, challenge themselves both in the classroom and the outdoors and gain a good all-round set of qualifications and experience that can take them on to work or other areas of study.

This course allows young people to study a range of subjects at SCQF level 5 as well as achieving their Duke of Edinburgh Award at either Bronze or Silver.

Whether you are a current student, or you are new to us, this course will help prepare you for your future by developing your digital skills, self-management skills, your ability to connect with yourself and others.

This course has a Learning Mentor attached to subjects where students may need extra support in class to complete coursework correctly and a Student Development Worker is also attached to the course for part of the time to help any students who need some help with social or emotional issues.

Entry Requirements

You should have 3 SQA units at Level 4, and or demonstrate the ability to work at Level 5.

Your application, interview and a reference will also form part of the interview process.

Progression Routes

Successful completion of the course may permit you to progress to other courses at Perth College UHI or employment.
