Nursing is one of the most rewarding professions, placing you at the heart of patient care and wellbeing. Our BSc (Honours) Nursing offers Adult Nursing as one of several specialisms, combining practice-based and online learning to equip you with the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to make a real difference. You’ll study four fields of nursing practice before specialising in Adult Nursing. On completion, you’ll be eligible to join the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register as a qualified nurse. With your employer's support or through our partnerships, the OU offers routes into nursing, helping you achieve your ambition.

Entry Requirements

You must be working in a relevant environment, have the support of your employer, and meet the requirements Specified by the NMC. You must have National 5 English and Maths or Applications of Maths.

You must be sponsored by your employer (you can’t fund yourself on this programme) and working in healthcare practice in a caring role. All applicants will undergo an interview and assessment of personal values as required by the NMC. Good health evidenced through self-declaration of health status, occupational health screening, review of previous sickness and absence record and two references, one of which must be from your current employer.
