Children and Young People is one of several specialist routes available in the BSc (Honours) Nursing.

This unique practice-based qualification is ideal if you're aspiring to become a registered nurse, whether you're already working in a healthcare role or new to the sector. If employed in healthcare, you can stay in work while you study, provided your employer supports this and suitable practice is arranged. For those new to the sector and living in England, we offer an alternative route to study this degree in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Successful completion makes you eligible to apply for registration as a qualified nurse (Children and Young People) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Entry Requirements

You must be working in a relevant environment, have the support of your employer, and meet the requirements Specified by the NMC. You must have National 5 English and Maths or Applications of Maths.

You must be sponsored by your employer (you can’t fund yourself on this programme) and working in healthcare practice in a caring role. All applicants will undergo an interview and assessment of personal values as required by the NMC. Good health evidenced through self-declaration of health status, occupational health screening, review of previous sickness and absence record and two references, one of which must be from your current employer.
