This course looks at the world we live in and what shapes the future of our society. You can explore a variety of subjects, building on your previous social subjects to discover new and exciting areas.

Content:

explore the historical context of Sociology; understand major psychological theories, from Forensic Psychology to Psychopathology; analyse the structures and dynamics of UK and Scottish politics; explore significant events in Scottish history, evaluating their social and political impacts; and, embrace the importance of research in social science, culminating in your own research project.

Entry Requirements

Higher English and a social science subject at B, or Social Sciences (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.

Progression Routes

HND Social Sciences or 2nd or 3rd year entry to a relevant degree programme or employment.
