This course gives you a good introduction to the foundation and fascinating world of social sciences and builds on your existing knowledge of contemporary issues.

Subjects include:
the nature of crime; social psychology and how social environment affects other thoughts, feelings and behaviours; how sociology can help understand the world we live in; current issues around equality and diversity; the distribution of power in political systems; events in history and the importance of social and political movements; population distribution, growth and change in the developed and developing world.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Interview.

Progression on to a course at SCQF Level 6 such as Advanced Social Sciences
