Content

This course is designed for young people with additional support needs, helping them transition into vocational areas of Further Education, employment, or volunteering. It encourages independent study where appropriate and focuses on career management skills and real-life work and volunteering opportunities.

The course timetable allows learners to build on their independence life skills and covers essential areas such as volunteering, health and well-being, independent living skills, first aid and hospitality. Learners are also encouraged to participate in full-time vocational areas to prepare for future studies. This course is ideal for those who would benefit from a more supportive learning environment.

Entry Requirements

This course is for young people, aged 16–21 who have received additional support for learning at school. Referral would normally be made following school transition review meetings. Referrals are also made through SDS (Skills Development Scotland)/Careers and direct applicants.
