HNC Computing is one of The SQA’s longest established and most popular qualifications. It covers a wide range of computing subject areas and allows you to progress to HND qualifications in Computer Science, Networking, Software Engineering or Technical Support. Students on this course have the added opportunity to acquire further vendor qualifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA A+ and Microsoft MCITP which are all highly desired by employers. You will also have the opportunity to enter World Skills competitions.

Content includes:
System fundamentals; Software development; Troubleshooting computing problems; Networking technology; Web development; Computer forensics; Ethical hacking; Project management; Database Fundamentals.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher plus 1 subject at National 5 in Maths, Computing Science or a science subject, or relevant NC at SCQF Level 6.

Selection will be by interview (where required), references and qualifications.
