This is one of several specialist routes available in the BA (Honours) Arts and Humanities. The degree starts by developing your understanding of the world we live in through a variety of perspectives, periods and subjects – including classical studies. You’ll then take at least two specialist classical studies modules, discovering more about classical Greece and Rome by exploring sources as varied as poetry, drama, history writing, art, architecture, archaeology, inscriptions, and philosophy.
Alongside your study of classical studies, you can choose to study a second specialism from art history, creative writing, English language, English literature, history, modern languages, music, philosophy and religious studies. This will entitle you to include both subjects in the name of your degree, or complete your degree with modules chosen from a wide range of options.
There are no formal qualifications required to study this degree. Computer and internet access required.
If you’re new to study or to the OU, it is recommended that you start with a course at Level 1.
